CASTOR / POLLUX SPHERES

Howdy,

It's funny to think they were just visiting the ISS, but they're on their way now.

You're invited to join an interactive ANDE-2 group, and share in the science.

Thanks, and GL ISS!

Newbie with scanner.

Hi all,

I am completely new to radio contact of any kind, and I want to know if I can listen to transmissions from the ISS with my portable scanner? I have tuned all the frequencies from the page on this site, but I want to know if I need any other equipment to hear transmissions.

Thanks.

25th Anniversary

I have been waiting for my QSL Card as everyone else has. Sometimes patiently and at other times very impatiently. Today, after reading some of the other forums on this subject, wondering if I was ever going to get my QSL Card, got it in the mail. For those of you that don't know, I won't ruin it for you, but believe me, the wait will be worth it.
Nicely done. It took someone some thought and time to do this one. My hat is off to you. So be patient folks, when you get it, you will be pleasantly surprised.

What antenna

I was looking at freq. for listening to the ISS (for North American Great lakes region) I'm assuming downlink 145.800 means the sending freq, and uplink 144.490 means the freq to listen on? If that is the case my 2 meter FM icom will not program splits in that amount of numbers. there might be some way to punch it in manually, but that's really not the topic of this thread. Just need affirmation that those are the correct splits.

I want to know if I even have a chance to make QSO with the ISS with a dual bander vertical 30 foot up a tower? I notice most examples I see on Youtube, and other websites all use handheld yagis.

sstv

Hi I'm new to all this.I'm trying to receive sstv from the space station. But looking at your forums I see that they only transmit once in a while, could someone tell them to hang a camera out the window and leave it on...
