fm voice
I am so disappointed . I just found out no more fm voice except school contacts. I just finished building a Eggbeater antenna tuned for iss only. I then decided to build a uhf antenna also and work the repeater only to find out that's also not in use. I'm not into packet so that's out for me.
Any chance fm voice will be used again in the future ?

Trying to hear the ISS - little help to get me started
KD0TLI here....
I purchased an Arrow dual band satellite antenna, but dispite my best attempts so far I've not heard anything on either 145.800 or 437.800.
I'd like some advice on understanding when/mode the ISS is transmitting.
Thanks.
Can never get anything but static
Every time the ISS passes me (east of Hamilton, Ontario) I quickly put on 145.825 or 145.800 and I only get nothing but static.
Mind you I don't have an outdoor antenna, just the small BNC rod that came with my BCD996XT.
Does the ISS only broadcast over Europe? I know some people down in the USA can receive but what about Canada?
So how do I receive them? What hardware or equipment will I need to get?

ISS transmitting SSTV images.
Hello radio friends,
Russian ISS crew started transmitting SSTV images.
Amateur radio operators from several different countries have received SSTV images from ISS.
Some of them have sended their received SSTV images to the ARISS SSTV gallery:

If you have received SSTV images please send them via the ARISS SSTV submission page:

Astronaut Samantha talking about her first ARISS school contact.
Hello all,
Astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti did her first ARISS contact yesterday with a school in Italia.
She wrote a nice story (below) about her experience and she posted a photo operating via the Ericsson handheld radio.
