I haven't been able to bring up ariss.net the last couple of days. Is the website down? Thanks for your reply. KE7MK. Ric...

APRS - mobile and portable

Hello.

When checking ariss.net or the APRS data I receive from the ISS, I can see that during each pass, most of the time, the same fixed stations transmit their beacons over and over again. No way that a low power mobile or portable station is making its way through the digipeater. Sure the strongest signals always win.

Saw ISS but couldn't hear it

The XYL and I observed a beautiful ISS flyover 2 July 2011 at 0150Z last night (75 degree elevation). I was also monitoring 145.825 Mhz but heard nothing. However, when I go to the "APRS Tracking" tab on this web site (http://www.issfanclub.com/node/add/forum/43) it appears that ISS is transmitting APRS reports. Any thoughts?
