How to receive ISS video ?
Hi,
In theory, as ISS is quite low on orbit, and if the TDRS linked satellite is over my country (data easy to get using a software like Thesky or any other tracking software à la Orbitron), using a small parabolic antenna or even a dipole, should it be possible to get their video signal ?
According some users, due to the TDRS I ccould get it, even if it was not encrypted.
In fact i don't udnerstand why I could at least receive it as I can receive military and other "private" messages using a scanner or another V/UFH rig for example.
By the way do you know the frequencies on which i they transmit their video signal ?
EXPEDITION 14 / ANSARI LAUNCH
no more radio contacts till about august late august???
i know they dont do radio contacts for schools etc..... for about the 1st 2 weeks after a new expedition crew arrives, but does that mean the packet radio will also be off. Also i realize that they were having some problems with the radio while testing SSTV. ANy information on if they ever fixed whatever the problem is/ was?
just curious and some food for thought
thanks everyone

ISS with tailing Atlantis visable
Hi,
Just had excellent view at 17:06 utc of ISS with Atlantis following closely behind.
My guestimate would put Atlantis about 10 miles behind ISS and Atlantis about 25% the brightness of ISS.
Good luck spotting.
