Made first contact with ISS on 7-29-2010. I couldn't believe how easy it was. I have worked a few amsats and assumed that a directional antenna would be necessary. I was informed that the astronauts were making contacts by a fellow ham and I checked the pass on hamsatdroid which indicated a high pass in 5 min. Not being prepared and unable to program the HT connected to my yagi, I got in my truck, set up the radio for transmit and receive, and (BAM!), there was Col. Wheelock full scale. I made my frist contact with the ISS on July 29, 2010 at 2320 UTC. How do I know if I am really in NA1SS log? I wish there is a why to know if your are in their log first before you send a QSL card. How long does it take before you get your QSL card from ARRL? Thanks, de K6LPB
