Heard lots of activity today, Dec 28 2008, on passes ranging from 1am local thru 10am local, and made several contacts via the crossband repeater, culminating in a 2-way with NA1SS. I am honored to have the good fortune of such a rare contact. Thanks to all the ISS crew for their enthusiasm and effort during their personal off-duty time in space!!!

Hi Everyone . im in the uniteded kindom & i have just managed to recieve a braodcast on my childrens hand held wakie talkies from mike finkle on the iss CALL SIGN na1ss i was so shocked... i can only assume it was a repeater message as the range on the hand held walkie talkie is only 5miles .. but it did sound like he was talking to me he seemed to ask me for my call sign . can any body explain this for me ? many thanks & happy christmas to all Mark Hull England

Using the ISS tacking page, based in London UK Longitude of 000.000000. Question, on the pass details the Logitude is given as a positive number from 000.000000 to 359.999999 but it appears to be 'inverted' for example when ISS is west of the Greenwich meridian, somewhere over the Atlantic the longitude is given as 027.092977 but no W(est) indicator but on the same pass as ISS travels eastwards across mainland Europe the longitude is now given 330.695173 but no indicator. The convention when giving longitude without an E(ast) or W(est) indicator is that 001 is 1 degree East of Greenwich, 180 is over the Pacific and 359 is 1 degree west of Greewich. I think a line of code in your computer programme possibly needs 'correcting'. But other than that 'small' failing I find you tracking page must useful. Keep up the good work.. I heard Richard G. many times but wasn't able to talk to him. I have since heard two school visits very clearly. My goal of course is to finally make my own contact!

Hello my name is David a new member. I am in St Louis MO USA and am strickly an all band amateur radio listener. When I found this website I was excited about the prospect of listening to the ISS. I've got good equipment to copy the ISS. Will report and activity in my area. Very exciting to read all the contacts. I'm using a Uniden Bearcat BCD996T and a Diamond Discone at 40 feet. I would appreciate any info for a starter. I've looked over the site just briefly but looks to be packed with everything I'll need to know. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Hi,my name is Robert YO9HNH and i'm from Romania.Today,1st december,i decided to join the club because i'm interested and i'm looking forward to get in contact with ISS astronauts and receive sstv images.I have a Motorola Radius P110 with 2 channels and a J-Pole antenna at about 20 meters of the ground.The radio station gives a nominal power of 5 w at output and i think it's enough to get in contact with them.
