newbie to SAT ISS station work
Hello all,
Kg4ult here in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. I recently (yesterday) bumped into a topic on SAT contacts on the arrl website and got very interested. I have been looking out for the ISS on my receive end since last night. Now the topic on the ARRL's site stated anyone can do this even with a nodest set-up. I have an 857d with the uplink of 144.90 and the 145.800 dowlink set up on split on my radio. Antenna is a small groundplane and can run full 50watts on fm. Questions are as follows:
1. Is it possible for me to work the ISS and if not what can i do to improve my working conditions abit more?

The radios are off as part of the preparations for the relocation of the Soyuz module. They will return to service after the crew returns and finishes all post relocate activities. The relocation will require the crew to put in a 21 hour day on Monday and will be sleeping most of the day before in preparation.
