ISS Packet receiver problems
During latest Europe pass the ISS packet radio system was silent for at least 6 minutes.
After that a very long burst of data followed.
It looks like there are still problems on the ISS packer radio receiver when over Europe.

ISS Dx?
Has anybody experienced DX on the ISS? I noticed this first a couple years ago when a couple of times we contacted the digipeater when it was below the horizon, according to Instant Tracker. This morning I hit it again at 1230Z when it was 3100kms SW of our QTH and -7° below the horizon. That's amazing! On a student-built single-element quad-loop antenna!

Each crew aboard the International Space Station discovers more and more about what it takes to live and work in space for long periods of time. ISS Repeater Status by Kenneth N5VHO
As some of you have recently commented, the ISS is currently not active. This is not by design and I am currently investigating the source of the problem. I hope to have the radio back up and operational as soon as possible but will have to wait for available crew time to help resolve the
issue.
Hopefully, you will see the ISS return to active operations in the next few days.

Expedition 9 Lands in Kazakhistan
Expedition 9 landed safely in Kazakhistan at 00.36 UTC of Sunday 24 October 2004.
The crew is doing fine.
Mike Finke Active 12:15 UTC

ON October 23, 2004 at 330 am the iss was coming right over head of lincoln Nebraska so i decided to step outside with my ht ... Expecting to hear just packet, i heard mr. finke (NA1SS) talking to a station in mexico and michigan so tried my luck and went to 144.49 sim and listened on 145.8 nex thing i knew he was calling my callsign, right back at me FULL SCALE like he was sitting right next to me.....
Email Via ISS
Sending Email via ISS is pretty easy!
Most modern software like UISS, APRS, UI-VIEW etc have the capability of creating a message to a user. This uses UI frames (unproto) via a digipeater to send a "message usually consisting of 1 line. Instead of entering in a callsign you enter EMAIL (all in caps most software already does) as the recipient.....
