ISS Amateur Radio
Thank you everyone - issfanclub.com closing down on January 1st 2019
Dear IFC users,
After about 17 years on the Web, issfanclub.com is going to close on January 1st 2019.
It isn't an easy decision to make but the site is in desperate need of being rebuilt and unfortunately I no longer have the time.
I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did. Thank you for your visits and your attention,
Alain

ISS SSTV
Happy with the Oct 2018 SSTV event made possible by ARISS.
It does take tons of money to take part of the action.
A very old laptop (2002) and an RTL-SDR dongle and a homemade antenna are the only equipment needed to receive nice pictures from the ISS. Software is open source and free to download.
Thanks ARISS and all who made this happen.
ISS-SSTV scheduled for July 30
MAI will have a #SSTV experiment run starting at 16:00 UTC on July 30 and powered down at 19:30 UTC. The next day (July 31), the system will be active from 13:25-19:15 UTC. Downlink should be on the traditional 145.80 MHz frequency. Mode will likely be PD120.
How to schedule a contact with the ISS
How in the world do people schedule a contact with the ISS
U4MIR Alexander Volkov, active amateur radio operator
Alexander answered to my CQ call , yesturday 7MHz. SSB.
After he was on ISS, it is very nice that he is active Amateur Radio from Earth...

The best ISS / Ham Radio ad - ever -
I'm sure that what you see in this video looks pretty familiar to many of you because that's exactly what happened to many of us, myself included. Ironically, the link was suggested to me by Maryam 9K2MD, a young girl from Kuwait who got her ham radio license for the sole purpose of talking to Sergey Krikalev (onboard ISS) and eventually succeeded in doing so.
Ham Video delivered to ISS
The ARISS Ham Video transmitter is presently onboard Columbus. The transmitter was delivered by Japanese cargo spacecraft HTV-4, which launched August 4 and docked 5 days later.
ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano IR0ISS reported that the bags are stored in Columbus. There are two bags: one for the transmitter, the other for the power, camera and antenna cables.
IR0ISS Logbook available
Francesco IK0WGF (AMSAT Italy) informed us that the IR0ISS callbook is now available via QRZ.COM.
The log can also be consulted at the following url's:
