The ISS Soyuz 8 spacecraft carrying the Expedition 9 crew is headed to the International Space Station after it successfully launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Liftoff occurred at 10:19 p.m. CDT Sunday (0319 GMT Monday) as the Station flew over the southern tip of South America.
