NASA Associate Administrator for Space Flight William Readdy will lead a status briefing at NASA's Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston on Monday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. EDT.

The docking of the 12P Progress vehicle to the ISS, as described in www.cnn.com, means that the latest ARISS hardware is now on-board the ISS!

Progress-M48 was launched from Baykonur on 29.08.03 at 01.47.59UTC for a flight of 2 days to the ISS and docked to the ISS on 31.08.03 at 03.40.45UTC so somewhat earlier than planned. The approach and docking took place under supervision of TsUP-Moscow. The only activity of Malenchenko was a check of the TORU, the system for manual remote control from inside the station.

Progress 12, carrying more than 5,000 pounds of fuel, air and water, fresh and prepared foods, clothing, and experiment hardware, is scheduled to arrive at the International Space Station tomorrow.

An unmanned Russian Progress vehicle successfully blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan tonight to deliver almost three tons of food, fuel, water, and supplies to the residents of the International Space Station.

Packet System Status

"Those of you who were on the air on Sunday, August 24 are aware that the
packet system was re-activated by Yuri around 12:00 UTC. Shortly
thereafter, the ARISS team received reports from the general ham community
that the packet system was operational[...]"
