ARISS

The “Berufliche Schule des Kreises Nordfriesland in Niebuell" is a school center located in the most north-western part of Germany.
The 2600 pupils are taught by 135 teachers. The school focusses on a large variety of professional education. The main fields are economics, computer science, health and nutrition, agriculture, social matters and pedagogy.

'...Mike Foale requested that we make it clear that he would like to try again this weekend, on Saturday only....but to not get your hopes too high that he
will be there...'

Expedition 8 Crew a No-Show for ARISS Roy Neal, K6DUE, Event Opening

ARISS

Other priorities onboard the International Space Station apparently kept Expedition 8 crew members Mike Foale, KB5UAC, and Sasha Kaleri, U8MIR, from getting on the air to open a month-long special event in memory of SAREX/ARISS Working Group Chairman Roy Neal, K6DUE, who died in August.

In Germany, as well as in several other European countries, the radio regulatory authorities issue a beginner's licence to candidates who prepare and successfully participate to an amateur radio beginners examination. For the second time, this opportunity has been put to good use by a teacher preparing a group of students for an ARISS School Contact.

Next ISS flight named DELTA

Space News

The Dutch Ministers for Economic Affairs and for Education, Culture & Science have announced the mission name of the next Soyuz flight to the International Space Station, which has Dutch ESA astronaut André Kuipers serving as flight engineer. This mission has been christened 'DELTA'.

ISS maybe hit by space debris

ISS News

A very strange noise, like "a tin can was being crushed" warned Crew's attention this morning.
An early visual inspection of outer surfaces denoted no signs of evident damage.
All the systems are operating normally and there are no changes in the internal atmosphere of the station.
Investigation might reveal that the noise has been caused by devices inside the station but for now it looks like that some light debris hit ISS.

Packet Radio on ISS Waiting for Approvals

End-to-end testing of the new Kenwood radio is completed. The radioamateur community is waiting for Energia to give its final clearance by December 8, maybe earlier.

ISS Packet

ISS packet was on @ 2250z 18/11/03 on an eastcoast pass off Maine, I hit it twice but, either there is'nt any digis listening or it was to far off shore.
I've hit the station many times in the past while its far off the eastcoast to use the mailbox an worked Bill CU2JL on the Azores via ISS.
Nice to hear some voice an packet again,..soon my friends it will be better then ever with phase II ops coming. 73 all de Mark KB1GVR.
