Plans for the long-distance wedding between Russian Cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko, currently ensconced in the International Space Station (ISS), and his fiance, the earth-bound Ekaterina Dmitriev, appeared to have been grounded Friday

ISS DAILY STATUS REPORT
Lu, Malenchenko Prepare for CSLM-2, Replace Battery Thursday was a day full of science and maintenance tasks aboard the International Space Station, and it also marked the 28th anniversary of the first link up of U.S. and Russian space vehicles.

NASA SELECTS
NASA launched the 2003 Summer High School Apprenticeship Research Program (SHARP) after competitively selecting 340 students representing nearly every state, Puerto Rico, and St. Croix.
In June, NASA SHARP participants, chosen from a pool of more than 2,400 applicants, became apprentices to scientists and ngineers at agency centers and universities around the country.
UNIQUE VIEW OF HURRICANE CLAUDETTE FROM ISS
International Space Station crewmembers are seeing Hurricane Claudette from a unique vantage point, 240 miles above the storm. They captured spectacular video of the storm as it was making landfall along the central Texas coast.

ISS STATUS REPORT #03-33
The International Space Station’s Expedition 7 crewmembers concentrated on Station upgrades and routine maintenance during their 11th week on orbit. Commander Yuri Malenchenko and NASA ISS Science Officer Ed Lu also advanced the research in several laboratory experiments during the week and shared their experiences in both formal and informal settings.

Educators will talk with orbiting International Space
Station astronauts during a special conference call at NASA's
Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards, Calif., July 15. The
call runs from 12:55 to 1:15 p.m. EDT.
Orbiter Space Flight Simulator
I have just found a very nice piece of software wich, IMHO, should be a must for every ISS/MIR/SHUTTLE fan: the Orbiter Space Flight Simulator, a free, realistic and very detailed computer simulation wich allows you to to pilot a Space Shuttle or varius other orbiters during take off, docking, re-entry and landing.
NASA AND JAPANESE SPACE AGENCY TEAM TO INSPIRE STUDENTS
NASA and Japan's space agency arranged for five Japanese students, chosen from 1,861 applicants, and their parents to participate in a live NASA in-flight space program. The program was with the International Space Station Expedition 7 crew.
