Hello everybody,

for few months I try to understand what does it mean to be radioamateur. For few times I heard astronauts and cosmonauts from ISS. Last week I recieved my first SSTV.

And now I feel that its time for another step: APRS comunication with somebody on "the other side" of the EarthI supposed that it could be 3.000km at maximum range, maybe.

But I try to understand, how to set up my Baofeng UV-5R and really famous aplication APRDdroid. I have started tracking, but stil is there problem to send "music" from android to handheld radio. I learn something from here

Has anyone used a new VX-8DR? I would like to get a QSL card. There is a YouTube video for the VX-8D but it seems different than the DR. This is also a new toy, still learning how to use it.

Received first SSTV image this morning and can't wait till next time. Looks like remainder of today's passes will be over the horizon from my QTH.

Anyone know if any upcoming SSTV events are scheduled?

RX-SSTV is very popular SSTV soundcard software for receiving ISS SSTV pictures.
After installing the software and receiving the images some of you might have noticed that
the software version, mode, date and time are printed at the bottom on the received SSTV images.
If you want the ISS SSTV pictures beautiful clean go to the RX-SSTV menu --->
-->Setup--->RX-SSTV--->Embed Date/Time/Call in Picture... select never.

received ISS SSTV Apollo mission pictures.
Some of them have sended their received pictures to the
ARISS SSTV gallery:

We may not be able to display every image because of quality or duplication.

I was finally able to hit the digipeater today. Will they give a QSL card even though I did not directly contact one of the crew members?

Thanks for your reports.
I have sended an e-mail to the ARISS manager in Russia and informed him about the carrier problem.
In the past this problem also occured in the beginning of the events often the Russian crew managed to
solve the problem.
Have patience.
