Ed Lu Letter #3 from the ISS

ISS Amateur Radio

This week I thought I'd write about a subject near and dear to my heart -- food. You are what you eat after all. First off, let me say I actually like the food here. It isn't quite like Mom's cooking, but it isn't bad! In fact it isn't really cooking at all, more like re-heating or re-hydrating.....

GREETINGS EARTHLINGS BY ED LU #2 LETTER

ISS Amateur Radio

I thought I'd write next about what it is like to fly. That of course ishow we get around up here on the space station. The main difference between life up here and life down there is that things don't drop to the floor here when you let go of them, and that includes yourself.....

Don Pettit Suggests Moonbases as next step

ISS Amateur Radio

NASA Expedition 6 International Space Station Science Officer Don Pettit, KD5MDT, has suggested that NASA should consider setting up lunar bases in the future as a stepping stone to expand mankind's exploration of the universe. The comment came in response to a student's question during an Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) school group contact. Several students at Cowichan Secondary School in Duncan, British Columbia, Canada, had the opportunity to quiz Pettit about life in space via Amateur Radio on April 21.

EXP 6 HOMEWARD BOUND

ISS Amateur Radio

It is now time to go home. As much as I like being here, I realize that this is not home, and it is time to return. There are new frontiers to explore on Earth as a family. There are two little boys with wide-open eyes ready to explore the world, and it is time for me to be there and learn with them. It is always best to stop an endeavor while you are still in the midst of enjoyment; this will leave the best memories and instill a strong desire to do it all over again.
