ET Shadow experiment
A t least one operator has reported hearing a beep beep while the station was passing overhead on 145.800 MHz.
This is more than likely the Russian ET Shadow experiment being carried out. I have not had any updates regards this for some years now, but there is still plenty of information online about it, and it would seem things are still transpiring forward, although at a slower pace than would be desired.
Head of to your fav search engine and do a search for ET Shadow, have a read.
The main Tsniimash website has been redone and is in Russian, I can no longer find any English links on the site, but lucky for us, the projects English pages are still on the server.

Having said that, I'll see if I can get any info from Valentin on the status of the experiment, and if we amateur radio particpants should wake up and pay attention. If any of the ops up north that are invloved (Cor, Guy?) know any more, please do enlighten us.

Old project
The links to the tsniimash site don't work and the most recent info on this site seems to be from 2008. Doesn't look like any current news or activity is happening with the the shadow project.
Shadow
I looked through the current updated site with Babelfish translator and saw no mention of Shadow experiment. I have also not seen any recent crew activity on the schedule for the shadow experiment.
I think the beeping you heard was a problem related to the recent MAI SSTV experiment.

Valentin wrote back, he says that some more equipment will be going up in December in
preparation for experiments that may take place in January-March.

Beeping
One pass this week I heard a series of beeps followed by voice on 145.800. I think it was Col. Wheelock. Tracking map had him right over my qth. (Oklahoma City) I was out gunned and could not make contact. However, I am new on the ISS contact scene. Thought it might have been some sort of an alert preceding the audio transmission.
