Best antenna for VHF contact
I would also suggest you turn down the 50 Watts output. With a good antenna, 5 Watts is more than sufficient.

ISS Radio Report
Monitored 437.050 (better antenna this time) and no signals. Just, as G7HCE mentioned, the 145.800 repeater was loud and clear, even at the 45 degree elevation from my QTH.
I have a feeling that the 0730-1200 UTC test period was a range for testing. I probably misunderstood that it was going to be tested the entire time.

ISS Radio Report
According to the DK3WN SatBlog, no signals were reported on 437.05 but activity was on the crossband repeater at 145.800
My next pass here is in 20 minutes or so and will see if I get anything on 437.05. I think I'm going to skip monitoring of 145.800 on this pass. My next AOS is at 1255 CDT.
Times are 0730-1200 UTC for transmitting.
We'll see.

Not sure what's going on with the test messages.? The same again today on last 30-deg pass over Exeter IO80gr. Only stations making QSO' throughout the pass on the crossband repeater with no CubeSat messages.

Best antenna for VHF contact
Oh my ... there are so many variables. I have a couple of small VHF/UHF HB9CV yagis that work just fine. One of them has collapsible elements and also folds up and makes a neat traveling package.
To build one (and it's easy) you have a couple of options. There a several references on the web for a dual-band yagi from metal measuring tape. But if you want to go an even cheaper route, the AMSAT-UK website has plans for separate VHF & UHF antennas made from stiff cardboard, stiff wire, Styrofoam boards, etc. that can be attached to a standard camera tripod. Both of these antennas need a duplexer unless you have two HT's. Really easy Duplexer plans are on the web also.
Commercially, there's always the Elk VHF/UHF antenna (needs no duplexer) and the well known Arrow (does need a duplexer but it's well hidden in the handgrip).
I have worked the MIR on a home built 2Meter yagi and the ISS with an HT and good (i.e. not stock) antenna.
A huge yagi array and rotor not really necessary unless you want to do moonbounce also.
Check out Cliff's website at www.work-sat.com. Tons of good info there.
Hope this helps.

I also heard the repeater on 145.800 (I believe I heard a PE something) but no activity on 437.05. I have a good pass from my QTH (JN58) North of me at max 45 degrees in about an hour (1245 CET) and will try again the hear TANUSHA.
145.800 was supposed to be the relay for 437.050. Can't find anything on the web about the results of the TANUSHA 3 test.

Yaesu FTM-100DR Digi Path
Hi Hendrik !
I know that the answer comes too late, but maybe will be useful also for you and other hams and
I just bought a FTM-100DE and I saw that the APRS DIGIPATH cannot be set to other values than "WIDE1-1" and "WIDE1-1, WIDE2-1". Even that, the transceiver can be used for working with ISS or PSAT, but helped by an additional APRS device. In my case, I used PLX Tracker, to interface APRSdroid software with the Yaesu transceiver. Using APRSdroid, I was able to set DIGIPATH to "ARISS,WIDE1-1" and sent APRS packets via PSAT, with 5 watts and an omni-wipe multi-band antenna on the car's roof.

Thanks for the recording of my QSO! My own voice recorder is out of action, so it's nice to have a backup :)
