International Space Station Expedition 11's seventh ARISS school contact will be with students at Ecole De la Source, Mascouche, Quebec,
Canada on Friday, 17 June 2005. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 13:34 UTC.
This contact will be direct between stations NA1SS and VE2CRL.

Astronaut Training 2
ESA French astronaut Leopold Eyharts has been scheduled for U.S. amateur radio license training with Nick Lance and Kenneth Ransom. The training sessions will tentatively begin on May 31and continue over a two week period.

Kenneth Ransom reports that ESA French astronaut Leopold Eyharts began training for his U.S. amateur radio license. Kenneth has also set up time to present an ARISS overview to John Grunsfeld, KC5ZTF, on June 22. Grunsfeld is a backup for Expedition 13.
Discovery Arrives at the Pad
Space Shuttle Discovery is now on its launch pad nestled within the Rotating Service Structure. The Space Shuttle will undergo final preparations and prelaunch tests to ensure a safe launch and readiness to fly. Discovery's seven-member crew will test new hardware and techniques to improve Space Shuttle safety, as well as deliver supplies to the International Space Station.
ISS crew could be on the air for Field Day!
International Space Station crew members John Phillips, KE5DRY, and Sergei Krikalev, U5MIR, may be on the air for ARRL Field Day, June 25-26. ISS Ham Radio Project Engineer Kenneth Ransom, N5VHO, at Johnson Space Center, has reviewed potential ISS pass times, and he says a few are favorable for US stations--although some will occur during the very early morning hours. Phillips and Krikalev will use the Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) radio gear aboard the spacecraft.
New Progress Launches Toward Space Station - 16 JUNE 2005
An unpiloted Russian cargo craft was launched Thursday from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. It carried more than two tons of supplies and equipment for the International Space Station and its Expedition 11 crew, Commander Sergei Krikalev and Flight Engineer John Phillips.
ISS Progress 18 launched on time at 7:10 p.m. EDT. It reached orbit in less than 10 minutes. Automatic commands deployed its solar arrays and navigational antennas. Engine firings are scheduled later Thursday to adjust the Progress' orbit for an automated docking at 8:44 p.m. Saturday to the aft port of the Station's Zvezda Service Module.
