ISS Status Report

Fresh food, new clothes and more water were among the welcome new arrivals to the International Space Station this week as an unmanned Russian resupply craft docked with the complex. The Progress 11
spacecraft automatically docked to the station's Pirs Docking Compartment Wednesday morning, three days after its launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

For the first time, an astronaut with months of experience in space will compare that time to life underwater. Peggy Whitson, an International Space Station veteran, is commanding a NASA crew spending two weeks living on the ocean floor.....

ISS crosses the Sun....caught on video

Space News

Following on from my recent capture of ISS crossing the Moon in daylight (June 8 ) , yesterday I made a round trip of 40 miles to get onto the centre line of a solar transit.

At the time of the transit , ISS was about 500 km downrange , and some detail is visible.

Fully according to plan and flawlessly the operations were performed with this for the wellbeing of the ISS crew and the continuation of the ISS herself badly needed freighter.
PrM1-10 started from Baykonur on 8.06.03 at 1034UTC.

Expedition 7 Begins Unloading Progress 11 Cargo

Expedition 7 Commander Yuri Malenchenko and NASA ISS Science Officer Ed Lu began unpacking cargo from the Progress 11 spacecraft Friday. The Progress 11, which docked to the International Space Station on Wednesday.....

Modules Arrive At Kennedy Space Center

Space News

After traveling thousands of miles, two major components of the International Space Station completed the first leg of a journey that will eventually end 240 miles above the Earth. NASA's Node 2, built for the agency by the European Space Agency (ESA) in Italy, and the Pressurized Module of the Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) arrived in Florida and are being transported to the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) this week.
