NA1SS (Col. Doug Wheelock) working U.S. and Canadian Stations on 19 September 2010 at 2059 UTC
Col. Doug Wheelock (NA1SS) works U.S. and Canadian stations on 19 September 2010 at 2059 UTC. Stations worked include the following: VGO (in IL), KE7MHG Mobile, VE3EFX, VYS (in MO), N3SNZ, N3MVF, K1WY, KC3MN, N8LPQ and K2DSL.
Maximum elevation was fairly low (16 degrees), so quality suffers at times, and I apologize for that.
Scheduled Contact with NA1SS and the Boy Scouts of Southern Utah
Steve Peterson, KI7L and I (Gary Zabriskie, N7ARE) provided the equipment and expertise to provide for a very sucessful scheduled ARISS 2-way contact with NA1SS at the Southern Utah Boy Scouts 100 Year (Centenial) Celebration attended by over 4,000 Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. We had a great pass and Doug did a great job!
We were assisted by our other members of the Dixie Amateur Radio Club here in St. George, Utah.
See this YouTube video for a quick look at the contact:
