EXP 12 STATUS REPORT Fri, 10 Feb 2006
After an almost six-hour spacewalk last week, the crew began the week with a little time off and then returned to science investigations,
routine maintenance and equipment tests.
Expedition 12 Commander Bill McArthur and Flight Engineer Valery Tokarev spent the weekend restoring the station to its normal layout after the spacewalk.
Expedition 12 and McArthur break school contact records
Received by Kenneth N5VHO:
This past week had three school contacts on Cmdr. Bill McArthur's schedule,
including two contacts on Tuesday on subsequent orbits. By the end of the
last contact, Bill had made his 24th successful contact. That contact breaks
the previous record of 23 set by Leroy Chiao during Expedition 10.
SuitSat heard Feb 10 at 0635 UTC with 3 element beam and HT
Received from Kenneth N5VHO:
I was able to hear the "...SuitSat-1...RS0RS..." and recognized portions of
the the Alexander Alexandrov message.
The equipment was an Arrow antenna and D7 with the squelch open. I had a 61
degree elevation pass and only heard it during about 35 seconds either side
of TCA.
