Radios OFF for Spacewalk
As Kenneth N5VHO reports, ISS Amateur Radio has been powered off at 1700 UTC of today Sept 2nd for a scheduled Spacewalk.
Operations are supposed to restart at 1700 UTC on Sept 4th.

KC9AEC Listening heard (KG6AGB, N7MPM, N5VHO, AA9LC, WR9A, KB9QKR, KB2M, & N4GM) during the 1154z to 1204z pass over Belleville, IL. I was not able to get in with a 25 watt mobile. Repeater etiquette was excellent.

Last day for repeater operation. Repeater has NO tone. Trying to hit it with a 5 watt HT with the rubber duck antenna is not likely. Having an Arrow antenna or other such beam helps. I have heard mobiles get in on occassion.
