ISS: EVA is under way

ISS News

ISS Expedition 10 commander Leroy Chiao and flight engineer Salizhan Sharipov are working outside the International Space Station to install new equipments. The spacewalk began today Jan. 26 at 07:43 UTC and is performed in Russian Orlan spacesuits. EVA should last about 5.5 hours.

ISS EarthKAM Program Seeks Participants for February and April 2005 Missions

ISS EarthKAM is recruiting middle school educators who would like to involve their students in an innovative and exciting NASA education program that gives students the opportunity to take images of Earth from the International Space Station. ISS EarthKAM picture taking missions are scheduled for February 1-4, 2005 and late April 2005.

Progress M-51 a perfect docking

This night the Progress M-51 docked perfectly to the International Space Station over Central Asia.
Launched on December 23 at 22:19:34 UTC, arrived to the aft port of the Service Module Zvezda on December 25 at 23:58 UTC. Thanks to NASA TV was possible to see all the operations.
Progress contains 5,000 pounds of fuel, food, water and other materials.
Chris van den Berg said two days ago: The foodsupplies for the 2 crewmembers are almost exhausted and if the docking will fail the crew has to return to earth on 30.12.04.

Next ISS Crew named: Krikalev the new Commander

ISS News

Phillips and Krikalev are the eleventh crew for the orbiting research complex. Krikalev will serve as Station Commander, and Phillips is Flight Engineer and NASA International Space Station Science Officer. Designated Expedition 11, they will be on board the Station when the Space Shuttle makes its first Return.....

Mike Fincke gets WAC from Space Station

On Saturday, Sept. 11, Mike Fincke (KE5AIT) became the first crewmember of the International Space Station to talk to all 7 continents using amateur radio when he talked with Palmer Research Station (KC4AAC).
