I use the Audacity audio-editing software, with the LAME MP3 encoder plug-in, to convert WAV files to MP3s. Audacity is available at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ - complete with instructions to add the LAME plug-in. Audacity works with Windows, Mac, and Linux/Unix.

LAME is a very good open source encoder for mp3's.

Do a search for convert Wav to MP3 . There are several options.
I found a free software called WAV to MP3 Encoder 2.5 at Download.cnet.com.
Select an output bitrate and channel (mono) low enough to keep the file size low but the quality good.

Go online to download a wmv to mp3 converter program. this what I had to do to get mine converted to MP3. There are alot of converters out there.
