Recorded Contact Query
I registered on Wednesday evening (Eastern U.S. time), and uploaded a number of Recorded Contacts including Girl Guides of Canada, K2BSA/4 and a number of ordinary ISS QSOs. The site went down and was displaying a database error after I had uploaded four or five recordings, but eventually came back up, and I finished uploading the remaining recordings.
When I upload a recorded contact, how long does it take before I see it on the site? Is there a review process for such things that would cause a delay before that type of content appears, or should I see it immediately if things are working properly? I thought I should ask in light of the fact that you are using a new engine for the site.
Here are the file names of the audio files I uploaded, in case it would be helpful to see if the content is hiding on the site somewhere:
2010_Jul_16_1750_UTC_145_8_MHz_Part_1.mp3
2010_Jul_16_1750_UTC_145_8_MHz_Part_2.mp3
2010_Jul_20_2256_UTC_145_8_MHz.mp3
2010_Jul_21_2324_UTC_145_8_MHz.mp3
2010_Jul_22_2213_UTC_145_8_MHz.mp3
2010_Jul_23_2105_UTC_145_8_MHz.mp3
2010_Jul_31_1824_UTC_145_8_MHz_Part_1.mp3
2010_Jul_31_1824_UTC_145_8_MHz_Part_2.mp3
I had to break up the scheduled contact recordings in order to meet your <2 MB requirement.
Thanks for your help.

Still working on this... almost done
Hello Todd,
the site is undergoing some major work and since this is a non-profit single-man operation you will need to have a little patience.
For technical reasons that would be tedious to explain I could not activate the "Search" feature on this site. To fix it, I had to put the site offline. Your uploads have nothing to do with that.
The good news is that I have finally managed to solve the problem and as soon as the new indexing is complete (about 24 hours) the search function will be back.
There obviously is a review process and I saw all of your content being uploaded in realtime. I would published it right away but I wanted to wait for the search function to be available in order to check for duplicates (I think I have already seen the guide girls of Canada somewhere...)
The 2MB limit was a configuration mistake. Now fixed to 10MB. Thank you very much for the tip.
Best regards
Alain
Thanks for the information.
Alain,
Thanks for the information.
You are correct about the other Girl Guides recording. VA2VA did post a recording of this scheduled contact, but that particular recording doesn't begin until well into the contact, and several questions answered by Col Wheelock are missing. The quality of recording is also different between VA2VA's and mine for first half of the contact as well. Of course, my recording doesn't have the last part of the contact, so as I mentioned in my comments for the Recorded Contact post, one really needs to listen to my recordings to hear the first half of the contact and to the VA2VA recording to hear the last half of the contact. If you compare them, you will see what I mean.
I hope you get the site straightened out to your satisfaction. Thanks for the effort you put into it.
Todd

Todd,
all your material is online. Excellent work, thanks for the contribution.
Alain
PS
The two contacts you had to split because of the wrongful 2MB limitation have been reunited.
