ISS heard calling North America
Wednesday July 7th 12:45am PDT Heard ISS calling KD5??? station tried calling back. No answer. Kept calling for duration of pass still no response. Unknown why no response. Could it be pre-arranged call? Miffed to say the least. Really wanted contact as I have never had contact with ISS before in all my 25 years of being a ham radio operator, which was why I became one. I was also at a star party with fellow amateur astronomers listening. Well maybe next time.

ISS Calling CQ NA on 20100707 at 2330Z
I got lucky and got a QSO with NA1SS and spoke with Cmdr. Doug Wheelock. He has worked TX and East coast stations before me (sorry don't have their calls and didn't record). I've expected a bit of a pileup, but he was calling CQ NA in a very relaxed manner. QSL is going out tomorrow! Anybody has any estimates of the QSL turnaround time at ARRL HQ? Tnx.
ISS Voice with crew
I as well have heard the crew calling at 145.800. I tried to reply at 144.490 with no responce. Wondering what the up link is??

Just curious, they using 145.800 simplex (up and down)? If not, what's the uplink?
Also made contact
Congrads on the contact, I also made contact with the Commander too, and believe I was the first one today for NA. The ISS was in an ascending node approaching CA. and taking pictures, moving towards Las Vegas. Very cool QSO and contact. 73's, WV3V, Jason.
I was tuned in to the ISS at
I was tuned in to the ISS at the same time and heard the station. I attempted to make contact though I don't have a yagi set up yet and the J-Pole i have didn't seem to make it up there
Why this is not happening
Why this is not happening above Europe ? :( :(
Crew free time
When a crew member does decide to get on the radio it is usually in their free time. That occurs near the end of their crew work day and the orbits during that time are currently over the USA.

You are true but...too much
You are true but...too much coincidence...
No coincidence
Not such a coincidence at all, ISS crew has also been heard on at least two recent passes calling CQ over Australia.
