Wanting to know the 2meter freqs. for the ISS & can it be done w/voice

I have only had my callsign ticket for five years and still consider myself a virgin in ham radio. It has always been a dream of mine to talk to a fellow ham on the ISS. I am finding this difficult to do however because of the fact that no one can give me a strait answer as to what the freqs. are. If anyone has such knowledge I would be very, very greatful if they would share it. Again, thank you in advance. Ed Lantz KE5FXS.

ISS frequencies

The following all have ISS frequency listings. Since you have appear to be in the USA, you need to use the ITU region 2 frequencies. That can lead to a lot of the confusion as the uplink is different for various parts of the world.

NASA site: http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/station/reference/radio/
ARRL site: http://www.arrl.org/frequently-asked-questions (look for "What frequencies are used for ISS contacts?")
ISS Fan Club site: http://www.issfanclub.com/frequencies

Many thanks

To: Mr. Kenneth (N5VHO). Thanks again ever so much for your help in this matter. I will be sure to look these sites up. I'm not however understanding how being in region 2 is going to be such a problem in speaking with the ISS though. Could you or someone else could further explain this to me. Thanks again Ed KE5FXS
