Trying to hear the ISS - little help to get me started
KD0TLI here....
I purchased an Arrow dual band satellite antenna, but dispite my best attempts so far I've not heard anything on either 145.800 or 437.800.
I'd like some advice on understanding when/mode the ISS is transmitting.
Thanks.

Can never get anything but static
Every time the ISS passes me (east of Hamilton, Ontario) I quickly put on 145.825 or 145.800 and I only get nothing but static.
Mind you I don't have an outdoor antenna, just the small BNC rod that came with my BCD996XT.
Does the ISS only broadcast over Europe? I know some people down in the USA can receive but what about Canada?
So how do I receive them? What hardware or equipment will I need to get?
