ISS Radio Report
ISS Ham Radio switch off
Had to smile when I read the ISS timeline for 6 May;
"08:30-08:35 FE-2 SM HAM Radio Power down"
I guess that didn't take the 5 minutes allowed :)

Progress Activities for Station Crew
The International Space Station is set to take out the garbage after Expedition 19 Commander Gennady Padalka closed the hatch on a trash-filled ISS Progress 32 (P32) cargo craft. The P32 will undock Wednesday at 11:18 a.m. EDT and burn up over the Pacific Ocean 12 days later. Prior to deorbit, ground controllers will perform a series of engine firings and study their effect on plasma in the Earth's atmosphere.
Before closing the hatch, Padalka removed lights from the P32, stowed them in the station and updated the Inventory Management System. The cosmonaut also replaced a laptop computer in the Russian segment of the orbiting laboratory.
Tony Hutchison receives Chris Jones Award
Tony Hutchison VK5ZAI is the WIA ARISS Coordinator and ARISS Coordinator for the Asia Pacific Region.
Tony says that ARISS, Amateur Radio on International Space Station is a positive way of introducing our hobby of amateur radio to students, and others throughout the world by demonstrating how it's used to communicate with the crews on the International Space Station.
During the year eight schools in the region took part in scheduled link ups with the ISS crews, including three from New Zealand and the rest from Australia.
The value of Tony's contribution to amateur radio and the WIA was recognised by the presentation of the Chris Jones Award at the Open Forum following the WIA's Annual General Meeting at the Gippsland Campus of Monash University, Churchill on 2nd May 2009.
