Details on Equipment to Contact ISS

I am new to ISS communications. I have lots of equipment but I would like to know in details the best antenna systems that folks have had great luck with and what rotor and software for the antennas. The goal here is to be able to have long QSOs more than 5 minutes with the ISS.

I will be hopefully putting together a Civil Air Patrol/Class Project to talk to the ISS crews during a school type setting. I need some experienced ham's who have made ISS contacts successfully to give me all their wonderful suggestions and tricks and tips to make this project a success.

Thanks a bunch

You may contact me directly if needed with photos detail drawings, or other information to give the kids a wonderful experience.

Guess I'm the BAD Guy!

I was connected (not trying) and leaving amateur messages on the BBS. I wouldn't call communicating pointless at all. I wouldn't call myself foolish or selfish, I do my best to be a good operator by promoting positive points in the hobby for all involved. The APRS packet comms were still being heard, both TX and RX, while I was active. Of course you would hear my packet TX on the frequency at the same time. This is radio, we all need to share and enjoy! I guess my parents were right when they said "some people will bring you down". And that is exactly what has happened. Thanks John-KB2HSH for telling the world that I'm the BAD guy here.
