ISS STATUS REPORT #05-46
Preparations for arrival of the next crew of the space station,
scientific activities and maintenance highlighted this week's activities
aboard the orbiting laboratory.
Expedition 11 Commander Sergei Krikalev and NASA Science Officer John
Phillips also spent some time packing up for their own return home,
readying their launch and entry suits. They checked out the Soyuz
spacecraft that brought them to the station April 16 to make sure it is
ready to take them back to Earth.
EXP 12 CREW LAUNCHES FROM BAIKONUR
Commander William McArthur and Flight Engineer Valery Tokarev, the 12th international space station crew, launched aboard their Soyuz TMA
spacecraft at 11:55 p.m. EDT Friday to begin a 182-day stay in space.
Their Soyuz TMA capsule reached orbit a little less than nine minutes after liftoff. Russian flight controllers reported the spacecraft's
solar arrays had deployed as scheduled, and that all appeared normal.The Soyuz TMA is scheduled to dock with the station at 1:32 a.m. EDT on
Oct. 3.

Hello All,
NASA chief Griffin admit (in USA newspapers) that
the ISS & space shuttle where mistakes.
Griffin sayd several times in his statements
that he has regret for the choice of the
space shuttle and ISS.

This is not good news for us as ISS fans.
But I have respect for Griffin that he dares
to admit.
Now NASA can focus on new space projects.
