October 28 briefings on NASA TV
OCTOBER 28 BRIEFINGS ON NASA TV TO DISCUSS NEW SPACE STATION HARDWARE AND EXPEDITION CREWA series of press briefings, beginning at 8:30 a.m. EST
October 28, will preview delivery of new hardware and the new
Expedition Six crew scheduled to arrive at the International
Space Station (ISS) in early November. All briefings will be
conducted from NASA's Johnson Space Center, Houston, and
broadcast on NASA Television.
Seven crewmembers, led by Commander Jim Wetherbee, are
scheduled to be launched Nov. 10 on mission STS-113 aboard
Space Shuttle Endeavour from NASA's Kennedy Space Center,
Fla. The seven include the Expedition Six crew on a planned
11-day mission to install the P1 (Port One) truss segment,
complementing the recently installed S1 (Starboard One) truss
as the outward expansion of the ISS structural backbone
continues. The Expedition Five crew, aboard the station since
June, will return home with Endeavour's astronauts.
The briefings also will feature previews of the work to be
performed by the Expedition Six crew during its planned four-
month ISS stay and crew news conferences to discuss both the
Expedition Six increment and the STS-113 mission.
Following the crew news conference, round-robin interviews
with the astronauts will be available to reporters at Johnson
and those who make prior phone arrangements by calling
Johnson's newsroom by Friday Oct. 25. The round-robin
interviews will not be broadcast on NASA TV.
NASA TV can be found on GE-2, Transponder 9C, vertical
polarization at 85 degrees West longitude, 3880 MHz, with
