One Stop Richmond Hill Community Center, Richmond Hill, New York, Tuesday (Aug 7) 13:25 UTC
An International Space Station Expedition 15 ARISS school contact has been planned with children at the One Stop Richmond Hill Community Center, Richmond Hill, New York, USA on 07 Aug. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 13:25 UTC.
The contact will be a telebridge between stations NA1SS and WH6PN. The contact should be audible in Hawaii. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. In addition, the audio should be available via IRLP and EchoLink. The participants are expected to conduct the conversation in English.
Richmond Hill Community Center began as a block association 37 years ago. It expanded to become the One Stop Richmond Hill Community Center and serves the neighborhood with many programs including children's summer camp, citizenship and English as a Second Language courses, after school tutoring for neighborhood children, Mommy and Me preschool programs, Videoconference and Computer Technology after school and summer program for elementary school children, local civilian patrol and a Community Emergency Response Team program (CERT). The community center also holds meetings regularly to get neighborhood feedback and concerns to solve local area problems.
NASA's Space Shuttle Mission Postponed 24 Hours
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - The launch of space shuttle Endeavour on mission STS-118 has been postponed 24 hours to allow the shuttle processing team additional time to complete routine work before liftoff. The launch now is targeted for Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 6:36 p.m. EDT (22:36 UTC) from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The additional day will provide time to complete the processing and allow the countdown to begin at 8 p.m. Sunday. As originally planned, the STS-118 crew will arrive at Kennedy at 5 p.m. Friday. NASA Television will air live coverage of the arrival. On launch day, live coverage starts at 8:30 a.m.

An International Space Station Expedition 15 ARISS school contact has been planned with scouts at the 21st. World Scout Jamboree in Chelmsford, England on 04 Aug. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 21:11 UTC.
The contact will be a direct between stations NA1SS and GB100J . The contact should be audible in most of Europe. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The participants are expected to conduct the conversation in English.
2007 is the Centenary of the Scout Movement which started on the 1st August 1907 when Baden Powell took twenty boys from different backgrounds to Brownsea Island to try out his thoughts.
