ISS: EVA is under way

ISS News

ISS Expedition 10 commander Leroy Chiao and flight engineer Salizhan Sharipov are working outside the International Space Station to install new equipments. The spacewalk began today Jan. 26 at 07:43 UTC and is performed in Russian Orlan spacesuits. EVA should last about 5.5 hours.

The next ARISS contact by Expedition 10 aboard the International Space Station will be with students at Pinon Elementary School, White Rock,
New Mexico, USA on Thursday, 27 January 2005. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 17:42 UTC.

This contact will be direct between stations NA1SS and NM5BB. It should be audible to anyone in the American southwest and Mexico area listening in on the 145.80 MHz downlink.
